Inland Italy

INLAND is engaging with three areas in Italy:

  • In the northern part , Bolzano, together with the initiative BAU www.b-a-u.it, an initiative for artistic production in South Tyrol, which Filipa Ramos, Lisa Mazza and Simone Mair started in 2015. After a first approach , the project will be realised in collaboration with BAU and local communities. The collaborative vocation of BAU is grounded on the encounter as a privileged from of exchange, in which coexistence and cooperation are central factors for the definition of a common space in which rural and the contemprary artistic cultures meet. In autumn last year for example, Hungerian artist Tamás Kaszás realised a Bauhaus beehive in collaboration with local beekeepers and bee education center, which is part of the main school for agriculture in South Tyrol.
  • In central Italy, near Naples, together with Archiving Irpinia initiative and with the support of Consorzio GAL Partenio and Marco Scotini, at the moment the first research stage was accomplished with a of social and territorial geographic prospection as ground to revitalise and build a new narrative for this otherwise progressively decaying area of the Valle del Sabato, affected by the earthquake it suffered in 1980.
  • In Southern Italy, there is the intention to continue the work started in Puglia in 2014 with Vessel, now in the area around Lecce, with Free Home University.
